결국 너의 이야기 (히브리서 1-2장)

히브리서는 모든 비교 대상을 동원해서 예수 그리스도의 우월성을 피력합니다. 천사, 모세, 제사장, 제물…  이 모든 것보다 우월하신 예수 그리스도. 어떻게? 왜? 무엇이? 히브리서를 읽어 내려가면서 일차적으로 우리가 주목하며 찾아내야 하는 촛점입니다. 

특별히 이런 촛점으로 읽어 나갈때 일차적으로 비교 대상들에 주목하시길 권해 드립니다. 왜냐하면 천사, 모세, 제사장, 제물…은 사실 지금 우리에게 그렇게 매력적인 존재들이라고 보긴 힘들기 때문입니다. 그래서 여러분들은 이 비교대상들을 지금 여기있는 나에게 어떤 의미인가? 나에게 같은 무게를 가진 다른 나만의 존재를 찾아서 대체하여 읽어낼 수 있으면 좋겠습니다. 

나에게 천사는 누구인가? 
지금 여기 우리의 일상 가운데 천사를 기대하고 우러르는 그런 분위기는 없습니다. 그렇다면 이렇게 질문하면 좋을 듯 합니다. 나보다 탁월하여 기대고 싶은 것은? 무언가 나에게 없는 것을 가진 존재로 선망의 대상은? 어느 지점에서 내가 인정하고 존경을 표하는 어떤 존재나 일은? 예 세월이 바뀌고 사는 곳이 달라져서 구체적인 대상이 변할 수는 있지만 우리 모두에게는 이런 존재나 대상이 있습니다. 여러분들에게는 그런 존재가 무언인가요?  오늘 말씀은 우리에게 그런 도전과 질문을 하고 있습니다. 천사를 선망하고 기대하는 것은 나의 약한 부분 내게 없는 부분에 대한 막연한 기댐 혹은 바람같은 것입니다. 여러분에게는 그것이 무엇인지를 생각하면서 성경을 계속 읽어 가보면 좋겠습니다. 

천사보다 뛰어난 예수의 모습은 무엇인가?
성경은 그런 나의 바램과 기대의 총체인 천사를 배경으로 결국 예수님을 우리에게 소개하고 있습니다. 그러면 오늘 성경이 소개하는 예수님의 가장 큰 특징과 매력은 무엇일까요? 저는 지난 이틀 동안 그것을 두 가지로 정리해서 나누었습니다. “그분은 변하지 않고 쇠하지 않는 분이시다. 그런데 그런 분이 나를 내가 사는 세상을 만드셨고 지금도 관심을 기울이며 돌보신다. 그것은 단순히 말로 지시하거나 관리하는 차원이 아니라 본인의 영광을 잠시 내려놓고 여기에 직접 오셔서 고난과 죽음을 통과한 생생하고 절절한 사건이다”  예수님은 이런 멋진, 괜찮은 분이야! 라고 소개하고 있습니다.

결국 하고 싶은 이야기 :  그래서 너는? 
결국 여기까지 생각해 보면 히브리서가 말하려고 하는 주제는 예수님이 얼마나 탁월하고 멋지고 괜찮은 분인가를 소개하는 것처럼 보입니다. 하지만 한 고개가 더 남아있습니다. 결국 성경이 하고 싶은 이야기는 천사 이야기도 심지어 예수님 이야기도 아니라 그래서 너는? 을 말하고 싶은 것이기 때문입니다. 천사를 떠올리며 나의 속마음을 들여다 보는 일도 그 모든 것을 충분히 감당해 주실 수 있는 주님 때문에 뿌듯하고 행복하게 생각하는 일도 결국 내가 그분 때문에 행복하게, 구원을 누리며 살아갈 수 없다면 의미없는 것이기 때문입니다. 그러니 다음의 구절을 꼼꼼히 씹고 씹고 꺼내먹고 꺼내 먹어야 합니다.

“그도 또한 한 모양으로 혈육에 함께 속하심은 사망으로 말미암아 사망의 세력을 잡은 자 곧 마귀를 없이 하시며 또 죽기를 무서워하므로 일생에 매여 종노릇하는 모든 자들을 놓아 주려 하심이니” “오직 아브라함의 자손을 붙들어 주려 하심이라 그러므로 저가 범사에 형제들과 같이 되심이 마땅하도다 이는 하나님의 일에 자비하고 충성된 대제사장이 되어 백성의 죄를 구속하려 하심이라 자기가 시험을 받아 고난을 당하셨은즉 시험 받는 자들을 능히 도우시느니라” 

여러분들이 이런 사람입니다. 내가 가장 흠모하고 기대하고 바라는 어떤 것보다 멋지고 뛰어나고 영광스러운 그 분이 자신이 가진 것을 다 포기하고서 자신의 온몸을 찢고 던져서 여러분들 옆에 있고 싶어하고 편이 되어 주시고 두려움을 쫓아내며 모든 일에 능히 도우시는 그런 분으로 오셔서 친구신청을 하는 것입니다. 이제 여러분들에게 달려있습니다. 자격은 필요없지만 선택과 꺼내 먹는 일은 다른 사람이 대신해 줄 수 없습니다. 





After all, your story (Hebrews 1-2)

The book of Hebrews uses every comparison to demonstrate the superiority of Jesus Christ. Angel, Moses, Priest, Sacrifice... Jesus Christ is superior to all these things. how? why? what? As we read the book of Hebrews, it is the focus we must first pay attention to and find out.

In particular, when reading with this focus, I recommend that you pay attention to the comparison objects first. Because angels, Moses, priests, sacrifices… In fact, it is difficult to see them as being so attractive to us now. So, what do you think these comparisons mean to me right now? I wish I could find and replace my own existence with the same weight as me and read it.

Who is my angel?
There is no such atmosphere in our daily life here and now where we look forward to and admire an angel. If so, it would be good to ask a question like this. What do you want to lean on because you are superior to me? Who is the object of envy as a being who has something that I do not have? At what point do I recognize and respect any entity or work? Yes, specific objects may change as time goes by and where we live, but we all have such beings or objects. What does such an existence mean to you? Today's Word poses such challenges and questions to us. Envying and expecting an angel is like a vague leaning or hope for the weak part of me that I don't have. I suggest that you keep reading the Bible while thinking about what it is.

What is the image of Jesus superior to the angels?
The Bible eventually introduces Jesus to us against the background of the angel, the totality of my hopes and expectations. Then, what are the greatest characteristics and charms of Jesus that the Bible introduces today? I've broken it down into two parts over the past two days. “He is unchanging and unfading. However, such a person created the world in which I live and is still paying attention and caring for me. It is not simply a level of directing or managing with words, but a vivid and heartbreaking event in which he gave up his glory for a while and came here personally and passed through suffering and death.” Jesus is such a wonderful, good man! is being introduced.

What I want to talk about in the end: So what about you?
In the end, if you think about it so far, it seems that the theme the book of Hebrews is trying to talk about is to introduce how excellent, wonderful, and decent Jesus is. But one more head remains. After all, the story the Bible wants to tell is not about angels or even about Jesus, so what about you? If I cannot live happily and enjoying salvation because of him, it is meaningless to look into my inner heart through an angel and to feel proud and happy because of the Lord who can handle all of them. So, carefully chew the following verses, chew them, take them out, eat them out and eat them.
“For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” Hebrews 2:16-18

You are such a person. 
The person who is more wonderful, superior, and glorious than anything I admire, expect, and desire the most, who gave up everything he had and tore and tossed his own body, wants to be by your side come and make a friend request.
